Lots of New n Lots of Chu

This post is going to be a long one, but keep reading because Dakota had a very big day filled with lots of firsts!

The day started out with a NEW outfit that Dakota's Aunt and Great Grandma in Japan sent her. They love to use English words(sometimes mixed with Japanese)--even if they don't make sense--so phrases on clothing are often amusing. But this particular outfit is made by a company called "Hug Hug Chu". "Chu" means "Kiss". This is fitting because Dakota has learned in just the last couple of days to open her mouth when we come in to kiss her, so we like to think she is giving us kisses! (Slobbery ones, but kisses nonetheless!) She got to spend a lot of time with both mom and dad today and gave lots and lots of chu!

Her FIRST time reading Car and Driver with Daddy....

Dakota played with a NEW phone rattle that we bought her. She learned how to grasp, shake, and bring it to her mouth for the FIRST time today!

Then, she learned to roll over for the FIRST time from her tummy to her back! She did it twice just to show off!

And during her bath at the end of the night, she kicked her legs and figured out how to splash in the tub for the FIRST time. Now its almost impossible to get her to sit still while we bathe her!
