Oakley 6 Months

It is hard believe that Oakley's first year is already half way over. I swear it flies by so much faster with the second baby!

He is such a joy to have in our home. He is always smiling and happy. He is super charming and catches the attention of most strangers everywhere we go. I really couldn't ask for a better baby at this point. He is very content, he eats really well and he's sleeping thru the night. What more can you ask for??

He loves baby food and will gobble up just about anything I give him. We've just started proteins and he loves them. He is super interested in table food but still too little for most of it! He still breastfeeds about 5 times a day, but he's also eating baby foods about 3 times a day. It's no wonder he's growing so big!

He has the brightest eyes and loves to take in everything going on around him. He's very social and likes to be where the crowd is. He gets upset if you leave him in a room alone or if he's not part of the action. He especially likes to watch everything his big sister does.

He giggles all the time and we love making him laugh. He's also very very very ticklish.

He loves his mobile, swing and Tigger. He gives open mouth drooly kisses. And he snuggles much more than his sister did. He's just getting use to sleeping in the same bedroom with Dakota. We started doing bath and bedtime routine together with them and putting them in the room at the same time to go to sleep. Oakley cried for the first week or so, but now he settles quickly and eventually they both go to sleep. I am really enjoying this routine! He will then sleep from about 9pm when we put them down, to about 7am and sometimes later.

He's rolling around every way in every direction and is starting to really be able to get around the floors this way to get what he wants. After some very long roadtrips last month, he is a little apprehensive about getting in his carseat these days. He's not as great in the car for long rides as Dakota is, but he does fine.

At his check-up he weighed in at exactly 16 pounds (23%) and was 26" long (35%)! He's much bigger than Dakota at this stage and is already moving into the 6-12 month sized clothing. Though his feet are still small... he just barely outgrew the newborn size booties!

He's also been teething and gnawing on everything he can, including his fingers that are always in his mouth. We can see and feel the tip of his left k9 coming in, which we think is a funny first tooth to get!

He really is hard to resist. We are all head over heels for him!
