July 4th

We slept in for the holiday and then Dakota and I headed over to my mom's for some quality girl time with she and my sister. They took Dakota to the store and let her ride in one of the carts that had a car on it. She drove the whole time making car noises! My cousin got married today so the whole family met downtown at the Jewish Community Center for her wedding. It had an awesome view of the SL valley. Dakota was pretty worn out so we drove home to my mom's a little early and let her take a "nap". After the city fireworks were over, we whipped out our own and woke up Koda for the experience. She was kinda sleepy and a little shocked by all the noise and bright light. I think she enjoyed them but she watched them with this look on her face the whole time... squinted eyes and little hesitant how each display would turn out. Roman Candles were her favorite (shhh!). She also really like flowers. It was a pretty chill holiday except for the wedding, but hopefully next year we'll be able to take her to the parades and big fireworks! The 4th of July really is one of my favorite holidays. I love the idea of snuggling up with your loved ones under the giant sky watching beautiful fireworks, eating treats, and being grateful for this country and freedom that we get to enjoy! Hope you all had a great 4th!
