This year we had the traditional Namba Family Christmas Party at Grandma' Yukie's early this year so that everyone in the family could be there for those that had in-law plans for the actual holiday. We started a new tradition with Doug's family with all his aunts, uncles and cousins where instead of exchanging gifts, we give stocking stuffers. They all fit in these great big bags which really are more like Santa bags than stockings! Gma Yuk had a special surprise for everyone. When we first arrived, no one was aloud downstairs, where we normally dine and hang out. When we finally all got to go down, the tables were set with seat assignments and everyone was represented by a wooden nutcracker of sorts. And the great-grandbabies each got a Christmas-themed music box. It was so fun and thoughtful. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner as always and played with all the little kids. Almost everyone in the whole family was there minus a couple of Doug's sisters and one cousin. Dakota had a blast just crawling around and found these ruby-like crystal ornaments that Gma hangs from her tree. She thought it was the best toy and was determined to get the whole thing in her mouth. And did a couple times!
