I can't believe my baby is turning into a little girl! At birth she weighed 5lbs 14 oz, now she's 21lbs 10 oz. And she's gone from 18 1/2" long to 31" long! She is petite and often stays in sizes a little longer. Her shoe size is always 1-2 sizes behind her age. She's in a size 3 shoe right now, 12 month pants, and 18 month tops. She's growing hair slowly but surely. She has the most right on the crown and its long, but not very thick yet. Still no need for a haircut.
I don't even think I can recount everything she's learned in the last 6 months, but I'll try to record the highlights.
She learned to walk shortly after her 1st birthday, and hasn't slowed down since! She started climbing on everything including the head rest of our couch and turning the light switch on and off in the living room. She's a pro at stairs. And lately, she's trying to master them like an adult, holding onto the rails and taking steps. She's learning to talk and says about 35 words regularly and makes about 11 different animal noises including snake, monkey, rooster, and elephant. She loves babies and pretends to care for her baby doll, putting her to sleep for naps with a kiss, giving her binkies, and rocking her. She gives babies kisses whenever they are around. She loves to swing in the toddler swings at the park and recently started climbing the stairs to the slide and going down by herself on her tummy (feet first)! She has no fear but has yet to have any serious injuries. *Hold my breath!* She still loves to go in her Jumperoo and spends some time in it almost every morning while I get ready for the day. Its the only time in the day that she is contained and safe from getting into trouble. I don't know what I would have done without it! She's very attached to her sippy cups as of late and carries them around like a security blanket. She also is very attached to her lady bug pillow that Yukie gave her last Christmas. She also likes her mini and giant stuffed Nemos. She plays with her Little People sets almost daily as well as a magnet animal barn we keep on our freezer. She also loves to read books by herself. Her favorites are pictures books with one word and she'll point to the picture and say what it is. She loves to dance and will play the piano any chance she gets! She recently started singing while playing and its adorable! She understands so much of what we say and is getting better and better at communicating what she wants, including when she wants to eat, nap, take a bath, go outside or go bye-bye, needs a drink or a diaper change, etc. She loves to pretend talk on the phone and is barely learning how to talk to someone on the phone for real. She also likes to pretend to take pictures with toy cameras and my phone. She says "Cheese" as she puts the camera up to her eyes. She's enjoying more and more children's movies. She still takes 2 naps a day... 10am-noon and 3:30-5:30. She goes to bed at 8pm and sleeps till about 8am give or take. She is content more and more with playing in her crib in the morning when she first wakes up. And we don't know what she does in bed while she's settling down, but it sound like acrobatics! She has all her teeth except her 2-yr molars and pretty much just eats adult form of food now. Her favorite foods are: noodles, apples, green beans, bananas, deli turkey, string cheese, PB and honey sandwich, and Eggo waffles. She drinks whole milk and calls water "joooce". And she still LOVES her binky!
She learns something new every day and is constantly making us laugh. We love her so much! She keeps us on our toes and I am just worried about always being able to stay ahead of her in life.
