Asako's Birthday

Yesterday was Asako's birthday (Doug's mom). So, the family gathered at her grave side to honor her. It was the first time Dakota has been there. She is named after her Bachan... Asako... who died from stomach cancer a year and half ago. So, it was special to take her there and we hope to make more frequent trips there so she can grow up knowing who her Bachan was and who she is named after. I like to believe that Asako sent Dakota to us, as we conceived her only one month after she passed away. Often as an infant Dakota would look off in the distance and just smile as if someone was talking to her and I've always believed that it was her Bachan she could see. We will never forget her and hope to always keep a part of her with us and our children. Happy Birthday. We love you.
