Easter in Boise

We went to visit my mom in Boise for a week at Easter time. She was working during the days, so we didn't get to see her much until the weekend. I went up with all 3 kids by myself and it was not what I would call the easiest-going trip but we did make some good memories. Oakley got a cold the day I left and I forgot his asthma meds. He was having attacks and I had to go to a Walgreens at 11pm that night and get an emergency inhaler for the rest of our trip. Due to this and not being able to sleep well, Oakley had a terrible night terror while we were there. He woke up at 2:30am screaming bloody murder and nothing at all would comfort him. He even seemed like he was scared of me. Total terror. I thought the whole neighborhood was going to wake up, but after 30 minutes, he finally snapped out of it and went back to sleep. Later in the week, Ryden decided to cut his first tooth. So I spent many sleepless nights with him as well. Dakota was pretty good. But I was exhausted by the end of the week.

HOWEVER, we did have a little fun too ;) One day we met Grandma for lunch at the Boise Pizza Company for buffet pizza and it was very good! We also met up with Grandma another day and ate at Carl's Jr. and let the kids play in the playland. Afterward, we went to an awesome public library where they have an entire kid's area with puzzles and a puppet show stage. There was another little girl there named Adele, who was Dakota's age and she and Dakota played together the whole time. They were so silly and had so much fun. Oakley enjoyed playing puzzles and trains with Grandma and Ryden slept like a good little baby ;) We also visited Aunt 'Met' one day and jumped on her tramp. But there were some pretty cold days while we were visiting.

On Saturday, we had a huge family Easter egg hunt at the park by Grandma and Grandpa Dave's. Many of our cousins, 2nd cousins, aunts and uncles came. We adults hid dozens and dozens of eggs around the park and then let the kids go wild. They also enjoyed playing at the playground. We had a good time and we enjoyed seeing some cousins we don't get to see often. I loved that we did this in Boise b/c I have memories of egg hunts while visiting my Grandma Ruth's house in Boise as a child. We spent the eve dying eggs and Oakley loved it. Except, because he likes to help cook, he kept trying to crack the hard boiled eggs and ruined a few of them. He also wanted to DROP them in the dye instead of gradually lowering them in there. He is all boy! So, we did have quite a bit of clean up to do. But he loved it and so did Dakota.

Sunday, the Eater bunny came and the kids were delighted with their baskets. We attended church and then packed up to go home and see Daddy.
