Taylor 1 Month

Why does time pass so slowly during pregnancy and so quickly once they are born?

We brought Taylor in for a weight check when she was 5 days old and she weighed in at 6 lbs 4 oz. Because of her length, she never fit the preemie clothes I had for her. She went straight into newborn size. At 10 days old, she attended her aunt Erika's wedding and was just darling in a beautiful dressy dress. Although, at the end of the night, she did puke all over it, me, and the ground. She does seem to have a problem with puking shortly after eating and it can be quite messy. Worse than any baby I've had before. I suspect a little reflux. At 2 weeks old, she got on her first plane ride and went on a week long trip with her mama and dad to Maine for a family wedding. She did fantastic on the plane rides... never made a peep. She was adored by all and did great on the entire trip! Couldn't have asked for a better baby. She got to meet her great aunts Kim and Shelley and my cousin Scott and his family while we were there. She came home to her adoring siblings. Dakota has loved Taylor since before she was born. Oakley was very interested from a distance but I think he was intimidated by her tiny size. He finally asked to hold her when she was a few days old. Ryden loved her at the hospital and mistook her for a pet. He clearly called her "baby" but then tried to speak to her by woofing like a dog. He still woofs when you ask him what a baby says. :) Once she was home, he hasn't paid too much attention to her. Grandma Mima came down for about 5 days after her birth to help out. She barely missed the birth due to her quick grand entrance to this world, and was at the hospital shortly after. Taylor seemed fussy at hospital but once we were home and my milk came in, she became very content. I think she was just hungry! She also went to her first movie, Man of Steel, at 3 weeks old... I was happy to expose her early on to Superman! ;) She was a perfect angel. She is eating every 2-4 hours and will generally sleep at night for about 4 hours at a time. She doesn't seem to like swaddling and loves to have her hands by her face. She has been swatting those things around since day 1. The binky... she can take it or leave it, it just depends on the moment. At her 1 month check, she weighed 7 lb 4 oz and was 21 inches. We are loving have a baby girl in our home again!
