Hogle Zoo and Cabela's

We went to SLC for the weekend to celebrate family birthdays including my brother's. For his birthday, my mom and I took Clinton and Dakota to Hogle Zoo. It was really fun to take Dakota this year b/c she knows most of the animals and what sounds they make. The elephants were the biggest hit. She wanted to spend most of the time watching them and talked about them for days afterward. The new baby elephant was adorable. The next day Doug met up with us and we went to Cabela's to pick out some gifts. Dakota enjoyed the aquarium and all the taxidermied animals. I think it was just as good as the zoo. She was thrilled to see all the fish and moose! We also had our first scare with losing her in public. She just became comfortable enough to wander away from us lately and she is so short and quick that we can easily lose her. She took off in Cabela's and we literally could not find her for about 5 full minutes. Longest 5 minutes of my life! We finally found her with a worker who had found her and was taking her up front to customer service. What a relief! I guess she was in the knife section just checking out all the knives in the glass display. We gotta keep an eye on this girl!
